Motherhood, Faith, Fitness, Nutrition. We've got you covered
Notes: My bump is way higher and rounder this time. When I was pregnant with Adler I carried really really low- Baby #2 has a cuter bump for sure
Weight Gain: 12 ish pounds.
Food Cravings: Nuts and Trail Mix and sometimes chocolate! Like really good dark chocolate. Still get sick if I have much sugar so fortunately I don’t go over board!!
Early Morning Pre-Workout: handful blueberries plus coffee
Breakfast: 2 eggs plus 2 egg whites scrambled with mushrooms, 1/3 cup oatbran cooked with blueberries or a little pumpkin
Lunch: Salad with lots of veggies, rotisserie chicken or steak, feta cheese, nuts, and a tiny bit of dried fruit with homemade viniagrette. Note: I don’t LOVE salads I make myself so I do eat out a little more often.
Snack: Dale’s Bar, NP Pro Shake or protein pumpkin pudding. I use THIS recipe and add 2 scoops NP Pro.
Dinner: Protein plus veggies. Baked Chicken Thighs (normally I don’t love skin, but I’m all about it), lots of fish like salmon and cod, and pork ribs are current favorites.
After dinner: Cocoa or dark chocolate
Aversions: None. I’ve had a little nausea come and go, but overall the tummy is awesome as long as I eat normally and keep taking my magnesium and probiotic!
Exercise: I am lifting really heavy which is super fun. I’m actually a little surprised by my strength- I will thank the hormones I suppose I’m enjoying squatting heavy, pull ups (they’re getting harder), and my Momsanity workouts! My cardio endurance is definitely suffering, but it’s all good. I do still attempt sprints once per week and my 20 minute tempo run. I still teach my 30 minute HIIT cycle class too- it’s easy on the joints. LOTS of walking and of course my hot yoga day for restorative stretching.
Sleep: I’m sleeping really great and still aim for an afternoon nap.
Weird Things: Still allergic to the wedding ring- see here. I also have a small hernia. I asked- no it’s not from exercise, just a lot of stretching in the very low abdominal region.
Emotions: I’m starting to realize that the moments of having just one child are fleeting. As an only child I feel like the transition is going to be a big challenging. I try not to think about it much and have no expectations.
Things I miss: Wine. Still. I’ve been told to go ahead and have a glass, but I don’t think I would enjoy it as I would feel like I was doing something wrong.
Big Brother Notes: Adler is very excited about the mobile in baby’s crib. He also wants to teach him how to drink from a bottle. He is still not allowed to have a name. His name is “baby brother”.
