Motherhood, Faith, Fitness, Nutrition. We've got you covered
By Coach Debbie
When was the last time you were approached by a friend with a problem and you responded, “I wish I could help. I don’t know what to do. I guess I’ll just pray.” I am so guilty of boxing God in. Humanizing Him. Limiting Him. Doubting Him. When all else fails, we finally decide to turn it over to Mr. Invisible and His magic wand, right?
In Numbers 11:23 the LORD asks Moses, “Is the LORD’s arm too short?”
The mental picture is almost comical. But do we treat Him as a last-resort? “Oh, I don’t want to bother God with this. He’s so busy spinning the earth and helping people who are starving or being abused or fighting diseases.” And so we discuss our issue with friends, or mentally hash it out, go shop online…..basically getting our panties in a wad.
I know you’ve got some “stuff” in your life right now. Sadness. Sickness. Anger. Loneliness. Confusion. Frustration. Is the LORD’s arm too short? Are our problems so high-and-mighty that they’re undeserving of His attention? If so, pride is in the way. Oh, and pride is idolatry, by the way. Admit you need Him. Like a kid with a splinter who needs Mom to get it out so it doesn’t get infected.
Can we bow down and ask Him to forgive us for minimizing Him? Cast your cares on Him. He can handle it.
Start putting Him first. Put the phone down. No “pros” and “cons” list. No self-medicating with food or booze. No complaining. No retail therapy. Just spilling your guts to Mr. Invisible who listens, loves and leads.
P.S. That doesn’t mean you’ll get everything taken care of as you hoped or envisioned. But you’re taking it to the Great I Am who is wisdom and love and strength and healing.
His arms, friend, are far from being too short.
