Momsanity is truly a community of Moms striving to achieve balance through physical, emotional and spiritual wellness. Although we talk lots about fat loss focused workouts, on the go nutritious meals, and other fitness tips for busy moms, the heart of the Momsanity Coaches goes beyond encouraging your physical fitness.
We want to encourage your spiritual fitness as well!
So with that, let’s talk today about your sense of purpose. This is an area that many moms (myself included) struggle with.
As a busy mom with so much on your plate, have you ever caught yourself confused, unappreciated, frustrated, or exhausted, trying to answer these questions:
We are here to bring glory to God
I know I have. What about you? Do you believe that there is a purposeful design and meaning to your life, or do you feel like you’re just an evolved combination of molecules spinning aimlessly through a chaotic universe of diapers, dishes, spit up and bottles?
As a mom, our lives matter. And no, achieving a perfect home, perfect family, or perfect body is not what life is supposed to be all about.
God has a greater purpose for your life.
The questions mentioned above are all too common among moms. They aren’t anything new. In fact, even in the 17th century a group of Christians in England who were writing about their faith asked the question, “What is the chief end of man?”
The answer they wrote was this: “The chief end of man is to glorify God and to enjoy him forever.”
Stop and reread this statement. Think about it. This is one of the most important truths that we will ever know.
We are here to bring glory to God.
In whatever we do- whether as a mom, as a wife, or as a career women. In the New Testament the apostle Paul even went so far as to say that “Whether then, youe at or drin or WHATEVER you do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31). Even the way we eat and drink should be done with an attitude and in such a way as to cause others around us to say, “Isn’t God great! Isn’t He wonderful! Isn’t it great to know Him through His Son?”
Isn’t it an amazing thought? You and I can bring glory to God!
It’s not as though God needs us to let others know how great He is, but rather, because of his abounding grace, he allows us to be involved in part of his great plan. He gives us this great purpose!
God has a greater purpose for your life
My hope is that people will want to know more about God because they have seen the way He has changed (and is still changing) me and my ordinary, daily life. That’s one way for me to “glorify” God. As a busy mom, covered in spit up I’m not advising the president or influencing nations. But I still have a purpose in all I do.
