Outdoor Workouts!

Once the weather starts to warm up, it's time to take your workouts OUTDOORS!  Get outside and enjoy fresh air, cool breezes, and the beauty of God's creation!  Bring your kids along -- they can join the fun (or play nearby)!

 

ANYWHERE WORKOUTS:

  • Use a tree branch for pull-ups OR do squat jumps and try to touch the highest branch
  • Jump rope
  • Play tug-of-war 
  • Leapfrog Burpees 
  • Grab a weighted medicine ball and create some fun moves
  • Lift weights outside 
  • Leisure walk
  • Take a hike
  • Run sprints (race those kids--loser does dishes)

 

PLAYGROUND WORKOUTS:

  • Use a hortizontal pole for pull-ups OR knee lifts
  • Find a set of stairs and practice side squats
  • Challenge your balance on the balance beam
  • Climb the slide
  • Find an incline surface for mountain climbers and push-ups
  • Create an obstacle course (loser folds laundry)
  • Try a sandbox shuffle
  • Use a park bench:  push-ups, tricep dips, seated to standing squats, step-ups, toe taps, and split squats

 

OTHER OUTDOOR WORKOUT IDEAS:

  • Enjoy a beach workout (the sand is quite challenging)
  • Take a hike
  • Swim
  • Volleyball
  • Tennis
  • Bike
  • Sports
  • Canoe
  • Horseback riding

 

The key is to ENJOY the change of scenery as you reward your body with activity!
