Motherhood, Faith, Fitness, Nutrition. We've got you covered
By Emily Saunders
The last days of 2013 are upon us. I like to use these days to reflect, to dream, to pray and to praise.
The years pass so quickly and I have made it my goal to never be able to say “I wish I would have”.
What keeps us from REALLY reaching for our goals? Not necessarily accomplishing them, but really giving them the effort required to succeed, while also risking failure?I think we can sum it up in one word. FEAR. Whether we are seeking physical fitness, improved nutrition, a more disciplined daily walk with the Lord, or being a calmer more in-tuned Mom (or all of these at the same time), our greatest obstacle is Fear.
And Fear, my fellow believers, is from the enemy. He will strike down our best intentions, our dreams, our secret ambitions, and our perfectly defined goals with that one little thing.
Ever said any of the following?
I will go to the gym/start exercising after I have lost a few pounds so I don’t embarrass myself
I will join the women’s group at church once I have read through the Bible so I am not intimidated
I will eat better once I have more time/money/energy for meal planning
I will have that tough conversation with my child when the timing is just right
Guess what friends…it all comes down to fear. We avoid/delay/ignore/excuse etc. because we are flat out afraid of what will happen not only if we fail, but also if we succeed.
I have the answer…. and it’s not a 7 day meal plan, exercise prescription, Bible study or parenting book. It’s Faith.
Faith is a funny word isn’t it? Our culture uses it a lot- have faith in yourself, in circumstances, in opportunities etc. But that’s not what we’re talking about here. This faith is so much bigger. Faith in the Holy Spirit to guide you and push you. Faith that God’s plan is the BEST plan regardless of how it feels. Faith that the identity that God has for you in him is so much bigger and better than that which the world would lend to believe. Faith that God’s grace is the only thing that matters and that it’s not your job to try to be perfect or to do ANYTHING in your own strength.
It all sounds nice doesn’t it? If you’re like me, this ideal is so intriguing, yet so overwhelming. I have trouble having grace with myself. I have trouble turning things over to God. I have trouble balancing my never ending to do list. I have trouble avoiding feeling guilty when I feel like I don’t measure up. As a busy Mom there are many days that a trip to the gym is impossible. I need support, reminders, and fellowship with like-minded women who are in the same exact boat.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, defeated, misguided or confused by all of the information out there on reaching your physical, spiritual and parenting goals in 2014 I encourage you to join us in the Momsanity Sisterhood. We are kicking off 2014 with our REVIVAL programming.
We’ll be focusing on your motherhood, faith, fitness and nutrition goals with a realistic and practical approach. You see, we don’t have a magical solution, a Read-the-Bible in a year plan, a 7-step program, an exercise prescription that guarantees results, or a prescribed meal plan- because we focus on sustainability.
Our goal is to help you overcome that nasty thing called fear by providing you with a place to figure out how to be the best you. Our sisters offer unmatched support through our closed Facebook page, we offer flexible and sustainable nutrition guidelines, 10, 15 and 20 minute at-home workout videos designed for your living room or basement, and a variety of grace-focused devotions and resources to inspire your time with God. There is no on or off, there is only your journey which is different than mine. When our journeys collide and we put God in the center we can make big things happen.
Make sure you’re on our email list … we’ve got a variety of exclusive treats (think sales, bonuses and free live training) coming super duper soon (as in a couple of days from now) and you don’t want to miss them!!!
Let’s do 2014 together. Let’s kick fear to the curb and let God do his work. Are you ready?
