Sister Spotlight: Ashley Pope


Each month we are featuring one of our Sisters from the Momsanity Sisterhood!  These are REAL women making REAL changes!  Meet Ashley Pope, one of our sweet Sisters who opens up about how the Sisterhood has changed her life!

 ALL ABOUT ASHLEY:

I have always been someone who was VERY hard on myself about my weight, because my Mom was always heavier growing up and relatives would make the comment to me as a kid/teenager that I was built just like my Mom. It didnt matter if I was a size 0 (which I was most of my life) I was told that! This built a lot of insecurity in me at a pretty young age.

My husband is EXTREMELY athletic and fit, and I have always pushed myself to stay “thin” because of how fit he is.

When I had my son 15 months ago, I gained 42 pounds. I lost almost all the weight immediately, but began to struggle with bad eating habits when I was breastfeeding. To sum it up, I ended up with 15 pounds of weight that made me feel hideous, unattractive and like a failure.

Then my friend Kara Osborne posted a link to MomSanity on facebook and talked about how much it had helped her. I knew she was looking great and thought, ok I DONT have the time to go to the gym and I am TIRED of my weight flip flopping. I really felt like I wanted a lifestyle change and to tone my body and not just lose the weight. I can easily lose weight, but I knew that I didnt just want to do that anymore, I wanted to RADICALLY change my body!

I have been doing the Mom Sanity workout and eating lifestlye changes for about 9 months now! I have had times where I have FAILED miserably, and fell off the right path. But what is so sustainable and lasting with MomSanity is that no matter how off track you feel you have gotten, you know you can make the right choice in the very next meal, or the very next workout, or walk outside and be on track guilt free. It is a lifestyle program that is IDEAL for busy mothers, women who love The Lord, and women seeking a new vision of their bodies.

I have learned from the coaches that no matter what the mirror or the scale tells me, GOD sees me as beautiful, perfect and his creation. I’ve learned through the amazing support system and bible study assignments that I dont have to rely on my weight or my physical appearance to make me happy or feel loved. I have experienced spiritual growth that I have never experienced before because the program is SO intertwined with building a relationship with God.

I have learned that I simply CANNOT do this without my savior, I cannot make changes to my body that are lasting and sustainable without His help and guidance. I have learned so much from MomSanity and I will be a lifetime member!

 

 

In the 9 months I’ve done the program, I have lost 13 pounds, 8 total inches off my body, and built more muscle tone and definition than I have ever had. I was able to get off soda, and increase my water intake to a healthy level. I feel GREAT, I feel close to my Lord and Savior in a new way, and I have entered a sisterhood of amazing, loving, supportive women that have helped me countless times. I still have lots of work to do, and I know my body will continue to see tremendous changes!

I owe the coaches so much, and will forever be thankful that God directed my foot steps to this program so that I could FINALLY begin the lifestyle I was meant to live! After all, my body is HIS temple!

 ASHLEY’S FAVORITE RECIPE: 

My FAVORITE Recipe is my morning FitBrew Healthy Frappe! The recipe is:

3/4 of a banana

2 tablespoons of unsweetened natural cocoa

2 tablespoons of chocolate flavored protein powder (I use the Plant based)               

1 shake of cinnamon

1/2 cup of almond milk

1/2 cup of ice

1 cup of coffee

1 tablespoon of stevia
